Have you ever loved someone so much that your heart hurts to see them suffer? Have you ever believed in a cause so strong that you would do almost anything to support it? Then you are like me; someone who would stop at nothing to end the pain their loved ones experience everyday by supporting a cause that raise funds to help them.
You may have a brother and uncle or sister that suffers. For me, this one person is my mom. My mom is the strongest person I know. Yet she silently suffers everyday with something that has yet to be cured. This disease has a name; it is MS.
My mother went for years without a name for what she suffered. MS is so very difficult to diagnose. She could have had treatment sooner if the doctors could easily pinpoint what was affecting my mom. Yet even with all the advances in today’s medicine, MS continues to be very difficult to diagnose and treat. That is why I want to help.
Every year since 2007, I have participated in one of the largest biking events in Illinois, The Tour de Farms, to raise money for better medicines, better diagnoses, but mostly I ride for a cure.
I will be riding once again on June 21st and 22nd to raise money for this cause but I need your help.
This year I am doing something a little different. Something inspired. My mom is an artist. Her work is a beautiful as she is, but it has become increasingly difficult for her to pursue the passion she loves so much, her art.
So for this event I am taking the talent we share as mother and daughter and would like to give everyone who donates to the cause a chance to win an original artwork created by yours truly. I created this artwork in honor of my mother. The piece incorporates one of my favorites quotes of all time and speaks perfectly to how I feel about this cause.
