I finally feel great this evening! After some well deserved rest a from a head-cold I have been battling, I am starting to feel human again and ready to take on my art!
Day eleven brought on a new challenge for me. The book stated I could use any tangle I learned so far to create a new tile. Oh boy! What do you mean I have to think for myself? Create something with barely any guidance?
Suffice to say I was up to the challenge. After all, I dare call myself an artist for crying out loud!
Okay, so I wasn’t completely left without any guidance. The book did say I need to use two new techniques in this creation. One technique called an “aura” basically means to carefully outline a tangle that gave each outlined section more depth.
The other technique required is called “rounding” where you fill in areas with your pen adding deeper shading and texture to the pattern. On my own, I used a third technique of used graduating pen sizes to give a sideways landscape feel to the tile. Overall, I was very pleased with the results.
What tangles did I use, you ask? Well, I ended up using four different tangles in this tile: Shattuck, Flux, Mooka and Tipple. How exciting is that!
Well, it’s time to turn the page and see what day twelve has in store for me. In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this tile and post.
